Who is David, and what services can he offer?
David is an experienced Solicitor Advocate & Partner at Simon Burn Solicitors with a successful litigation and corporate/commercial legal practice. If instructed, he will be very pleased to assist you and to resolve any issues you may have.
David’s Background
David graduated with a degree in Business Management. During his degree, he interned with a blue chip company, and on graduation he started with UBS Investment Bank on their Graduate Programme. After 6+ years in banking, David re-trained as a Solicitor with a national law firm before moving to a US law firm specialising in finance, combining his significant corporate and commercial experience with legal expertise for his clients. Later, with a growing young family, David left London to work with Simon Burn Solicitors, a specialist boutique law firm, to expand his practice into disputes and litigation.

For 20+ years (including 17 years at Simon Burn Solicitors), as a Solicitor Advocate and Partner, David has advised large and small businesses both in the UK and overseas, as well individuals and families in relation to the following areas of law:
Publication Disputes & Reputation Management
David advises and litigates for clients who have had their Private Information misused, or have had their reputations attacked by Defamation (libel and slander), Malicious Falsehood, and/or been Harassed or Blackmailed. David has litigated such matters in the High Court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court, David is noted in the Legal 500 legal directory for his expertise in this area, and has been referred to by opponents on occasion as a “heavy hitting” lawyer.
David acts for both Claimants and Defendants including individuals/families, businesses and corporate clients based in the UK and overseas.

Business and Company Advice and Litigation
David advises business owners on contentious and non-contentious company/business matters and disputes including:
-General Commercial Advice and Dispute Management: Early advice for clients (owners/directors) on most commercial matters from simple contract disputes and risks through to advice on complicated and high value cross-border litigation. David can also provide advice and drafting/amending/reviewing contractual terms and settlement agreements, and handling negotiations and settlements.
-Banking/Finance documents and disputes relating to new and existing borrowing/lending and granting or action/defending enforcement of security including personal guarantees, third party security/ sureties.
-Corporate and Partnership Disputes-Advising on and litigating partnership, shareholder and director disputes e.g. breaches of shareholder agreements and articles plus managing disputes arising from share sales and purchases, as well as deadlocks. David will also advise on and manage disputes arising from business and asset & share sales/purchases (including warranty disputes), advising on terms of shareholder agreements, articles of association, and disputes between shareholders and partners including negotiating settlements, mediation, share valuations and if necessary Court action including claims and/or petitioning the Court to “wind-up” a company or to resolve unfair prejudice of minority shareholder clients.
